Avalanche PhotoniQ, based in Waterloo, Ontario, develops single-photon detectors using semiconductor metasurface technology for quantum computing, communication and sensing. QuantumCore (CSE: QNCR) announced the acquisition of 100% of the company in May 2026 for an aggregate purchase price of $2.0 million plus milestone-based bonuses, and completed it effective 9 September 2026.
