Sony Innovation Fund investit dans des startups deep tech où l'expertise Sony en semi-conducteurs, imagerie et capteurs fait la différence — avec un angle quantique explicite centré sur les qubits de spin silicium compatibles CMOS et le hardware quantique scalable. Kaz Hadano, à la tête de Sony Ventures, a publiquement identifié le calcul quantique et les capteurs quantiques comme des verticales deep tech prioritaires, aux côtés des énergies renouvelables. Le fonds co-investit généralement en Seed–Série B, en apportant son savoir-faire en conception et fabrication CMOS plutôt qu'en menant des tours.
