Investment thesis

Honeywell is the majority corporate shareholder of Quantinuum, the November 2021 joint venture formed from the merger of Honeywell Quantum Solutions and Cambridge Quantum Computing, now valued at $10B pre-money following the $600M raise in September 2025 — the largest single-round capital event in quantum history.

The round combines world-class institutional syndicate (JPMorganChase, Mitsui, Amgen, NVentures, Quanta Computer, QED, Korea Investment Partners) and deep industrial backing from Honeywell itself, which retains control. Quantinuum operates the highest-performing trapped-ion platform in the industry and is on a public roadmap toward universal fault-tolerant computing (Helios, then Apollo by 2029).

Honeywell's value-add is industrial: access to aerospace, advanced materials and automation infrastructure, plus the systems engineering expertise required for hardware scaling.

Differentiated as the only US industrial conglomerate holding majority ownership of a top-tier quantum champion.

Anti-thesis

The patterns that trigger a fast no with this fund.

  1. Honeywell s public quantum strategy runs through Quantinuum, so direct minority investments in competing trapped ion or full stack quantum companies are very unlikely to clear.
