Akhetonics is a German startup developing an all-optical digital processor, which it calls the RPU (Reasoning Processing Unit), built on a European supply chain. Its website states that optical digital, analog and quantum computing share almost all characteristics in a single photonics platform. In November 2024 it raised a 6 million euro seed round led by Matterwave Ventures.
